Like almost every season, the 1992 World Rally Championship begins with the prestigious Monte Carlo Rally. Ford fields a pair of Latin drivers: François Delecour and Miki Biasion. The Italian, a former Lancia driver, makes his debut with his new team on a rally he has already won twice (1987 and 1989). At the finish, he ended up “only” eighth, surrounded by the two official Nissan Sunny GTI-Rs, with Delecour just off the podium. In a nod to Biasion, the rally saw a Lancia win.
