The CX was one of Citroën's flagship models of the 70s and 80s. Its goal was to replace the legendary DS in the French brand's catalog. It was produced for 17 years, from 1974 to 1991, and sold over a million units! The CX is available in two versions: sedan and estate. Both versions are used by the French Gendarmerie. The station wagon, named Evasion, is the result of a collaboration between Heuliez and Citroën. Although a few Gendarmerie headquarters are equipped with a station wagon version, it is the least common among the maréchaussée. Nevertheless, this CX Break “Gendarmerie” has become a symbol of a whole generation.
