Following the success of the Beetle Convertible, another iconic Volkswagen model was marketed in a convertible version, thanks to car body designer Karmann. It's the Golf. A “hair in the wind” version was marketed from the first generation. From 1979 to 1993, the Golf Cab and its roll bar were a worldwide success. Almost 400,000 units were produced, making it one of the best-selling convertibles in automotive history. The Sportline was produced in Europe from 1991 to 1993. This limited-edition model was distinguished by fender branding and a reworked interior with special seats, dashboard and steering wheel.
