When the regulations changed in 1997 and the World Rally Car was introduced, Subaru continued its rally adventure with the Impreza. Based on the legendary 22B, the “WRC” version evolved over the years. The “S6” is used for the 2000 season. It benefited from a few minor visual changes, although it was mainly the mechanical aspects that set the blue Impreza apart. Introduced at the Rally Portugal, it started straight away with a victory. At the Rally Catalunya, 15 days later, Richard Burns also fought for victory. In the end, he couldn't beat Colin McRae (Ford), but took his second consecutive podium! The S6 WRC 2000 and Richard Burns finish runners-up in the World Rally Championship.
