In 1998, Volkswagen launched the Lupo, the smallest car ever produced by the brand. Positioned below the Polo in the range, there was no indication that it would give rise to a sports version. And yet, to everyone's surprise, the German manufacturer unveiled a Lupo GTI in 2000. It featured special bumpers, 15-inch wheels, a central twin exhaust and disc brakes. Under the bonnet, the 1.6-litre 16-valve engine developed 125 horsepower. This power, combined with its low weight, transformed this small city car into a real little sports car!
